marco Moderator Sales Statistics for Downloads Sold In your member area, there is a statistic that shows the monetary amount of sales that you have had over the past 60 days. This profit amount represents your sales not for 2 months but rather for 60 days back from the present day.
This information is useful and was specifically made for 60 days because that coincides with the number of days that a Paypal dispute, chargeback, or refund can be initiated. With this in mind you will know exactly how much you need to maintain in your account in the (unlikely) event that someone decides to file dispute or go for a refund attempt.
I did say it was unlikely but not improbable. I have personally had this done to me by a buyer on ebay 45 days after a transaction was completed and all feedbacks were given.
At any rate it is just an informational tool to let you know the amount of funds in your Paypal account that unsavory buyers may try to reclaim by dispute or chargeback/reversal.
Update 12/12/2010 - We have modified the sales statistics to track refunds as well. So your 60 day stats will stay current with funds that have received, refunded, or chargeback. Funds that are returned to you from paypal disputes will be deducted from your statistics (since the money is undisputably yours now) to keep an accurate picture of the amount of funds you should have in reserve for refunds. Hopefully this will allow everyone to manage their funds and refunds more effectively.
Update 6/25/2011 - Refund amounts shown in your sales log will show an amount lower than your actual sale price. The amount show in red is the portion of the refund that comes from your account and excludes the portion that paypal refunds from their collected fees.
